The Iranian regime’s intelligence is conducting extensive activities in
Egypt and other Arab countries, according to London-based
Arabic-language Asharq Al-Awsat who made the revelation citing Arab
security sources. In their report, the Asharq Al-Awsat daily reported,
that a member of the Iranian regime’s diplomatic staff in Egypt was
expelled four years ago amid the 2011 "Arab Spring".
The diplomat named Saeed Hosseini was expelled by the Egyptian
government over his involvement in acts of espionage in that country. He
was under the command of the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards'
Qods Force commander, Qassem Suleimani, the report said. The Iranian
regime has appointed a replacement for Husseini, according to the
security sources cited in the report. His replacement is in charge of
funneling weapons to Houthi rebels in Yemen, the report said.
The IRGC’s terrorist Qods Force is tasked with the Iranian regime’s
covert international operations, and has carried out terror attacks and
assassinations against many opponents of the regime abroad. It also
provides training, weapons, funds and other aids to proxy organizations
in countries in the region.
