The Nationwide teachers’ protest on Thursday, May 7, 2015 covered
dozens of cities. One such city was Mashhad, northeastern part of the
country.
According to complementary reports, about 8,000 teachers gathered on Thursday in the conservative city of Mashhad heeding the previously called nationwide protest gathering to demand improved living conditions and condemn discrimination against teachers. The city of Mashhad has always been in forefront of the popular dissent in the country.

In addition to Mashhad, dozens of other cities including, Birjand,
Ferdos, Bojnoord, Farsan, Shahr-e Kord and Shushtar, Roudsar, Paveh,
Qaem-Shahr, Astaneh, Doroud, Sardasht and Shahreza were also scene of
teachers’ protest where hundreds of teachers and employees of
educational establishments congregated to the voice of deprived teachers
in the country.
In some of these cities, common and ordinary people joined the rally supporting their cause and giving their voices to the voices of the teachers.
